Brendan Riley - stand-up comedian, MC and comedy festival director

Brendan Riley is a stand-up comedian, presenter and actor from Liverpool, known on the circuit for his bouncy, engaging stage presence and thick Liverpudlian charm. Blending fast-paced gags, sharp anecdotes and confident improvisation, he brings a distinctly North Western brand of humour to every room he plays, and has built a reputation as a much sought-after headline act and MC. His excellent audience interaction and unpretentious, gregarious likeability have made him a fixture of clubs across the North West and beyond.

Riley performs up to 40-minute headline sets as well as full solo theatre shows, and has taken his comedy well beyond the UK, touring Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Dubai as well as spending three years entertaining holidaymakers for TED Talent at Sensatori Resorts across Europe. In 2014 he performed for British troops on the front line in Afghanistan as part of a Ministry of Defence tour. He has appeared on Channel 4's Funny Business and Gagging For It and BBC's The Next Big Thing, and is heard regularly on BBC Radio 5 Live and local BBC radio across the North West. He is also director of the long-running Southport Comedy Festival.

Riley's fast, audience-led style and years of experience as a compere make him a reliable choice for hosting duties as well as headline sets, equally comfortable warming up a theatre crowd or driving the energy at a corporate dinner. His broad international experience, including performing for the armed forces, speaks to an ability to read and win over any room. A versatile, high-energy booking for clubs, corporate events and private functions.
