Tudur Owen - Welsh stand-up comedian and broadcaster

Tudur Owen is a Welsh stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster who spent his early years working as a car mechanic, fencing contractor and lorry driver before a chance job as a runner at Barcud Studios in Caernarfon opened the door to entertainment. He first performed five minutes of stand-up at the National Eisteddfod in 1999 and has been a fixture of the Welsh comedy scene ever since, building a bilingual act that moves easily between Welsh and English. He is an Edinburgh Fringe regular, having taken new shows there for around fifteen years running.

Owen is a BAFTA Cymru winner for his S4C comedy series The PC Leslie Wynne Show, and he currently hosts his own twice-weekly show on BBC Radio Cymru. He has written, presented and performed across numerous S4C programmes including Gwefreiddiol, Gwerthu Allan and Noson Lawen, co-wrote and starred in BBC Wales's acclaimed comedy series Tourist Trap, and was one of the winners of the BBC Three writing competition The Last Laugh in 2005. In 2022 Bangor University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Literature in recognition of his contribution to Welsh culture.

Owen's blend of sharp writing and unmistakably Welsh perspective makes him a popular choice for corporate events, theatre nights and festival crowds throughout Wales and beyond, whether performing bilingually or entirely in English. Years of broadcasting have sharpened his instincts for pace and audience, so he is just as comfortable topping a comedy club bill as he is hosting a room full of delegates. Booking Tudur Owen brings genuine Welsh wit and broadcast-honed polish to any stage.
